This is part of the difference of hospital vs. out of hospital birth - for the newborn exam instead of being taken to a warmer the midwife exams the baby right there on the bed with mom and dad, so they can keep loving on and gazing at their new addition.

This loving husband spent hours massaging his wife through her labor, and gently holding and rubbing her hands as he whispered his support to her. I felt like I was intruding on such sweet moments of love.

I admit it - the photo of the photo is always fun to capture. I'm not sure why... because it's tricky and a quick moment as one person snaps and I have to focus on their image and snap? The image within an image? I'm not sure, but especially these days with everyone holding a camera phone it's a shot I love.
This cute girl arrived on my twelve year wedding anniversary, though she so conveniently timed it that I still had celebratory cake with my husband and was home for a late dinner. She was welcomed with great enthusiasm by so much loving family, and the joy on her big sister's face was adorable.
