If a mom is laboring and the baby is in a tricky position then here’s something that can help move baby up out of the pelvis and then settle baby back into a more comfortable position. For the baby.
Mom will still be laboring, but labor with a baby in a less than ideal position can make labor longer, more painful, and less effective. Here’s the PDF but in a nutshell – knees/chest position for half an hour, side lying (like the Bradley book advises) on your left side with your right leg pulled up high to open the pelvis, then get active – side lunges, curb stepping, etc. This can be done during labor or during the pregnancy, but of course check with your care provider about any special concerns and positioning issues.
